How It Works

Buying

Buying on The Games Trader website is simple to do. To find the gaming item you are looking for, you can visit the Buy page where you can search for the item name, or you can browse through the site categories to see what listings are available.

Once you have found the item you wish to buy, when you are on the item details page, you can buy the item by clicking the 'Buy' button at the bottom of the page. Once you have progressed to the 'Purchase' page, you will then find details on how you can pay for the item.

  1. Collection
    At The Games Trader, there are 2 available payment methods, the first is collection where you go to collect the item in person and pay in person. If you are choosing this, please ensure you are aware of the sellers location before progressing down this line. When you are viewing the 'Purchase' page, you will find a Google Map of the town where the seller is located. To find the exact location of the seller and to arrange a collection date, the seller's contact details are listed below the Google Map.
  2. PayPal
    The second available payment method is via PayPal. If the seller has chosen PayPal as a payment option, when viewing the 'Purchase' page, you will see a PayPal Purchase button on the right hand side. Clicking this button you take you to the secure PayPal website where you will be able to transfer the specified money to the seller's PayPal account. Once payment has been received, the seller will then send their item via post to your provided address. The PayPal system allows you to transfer funds directly between yourself and the seller.

Selling

Selling your old gaming items at The Games Trader is free and simple to do. To begin selling your gaming items, you can visit the 'Sell' page by using the navigation at the top of the site. Once there, follow the steps and fill in the correct details for your item. Along with your item listing, you can add two photos to add that extra touch to your listing.

Once you have completed your listing, it will then become active on the site for 90 days at no charge. You can receive queries into your item listing via your provided contact methods when you created your listing.

Once your item has been sold, it will be removed from the live listings and the purchase process will begin. If you chose collection as a payment method, you may receive contact from the buyer to arrange a collection date. Alternatively, if you chose PayPal, you may receive an email from PayPal to inform you of when payment has been received. If you don't receive any contact, you can relist the item at any time.

You can track the status of your item transaction by visiting the 'Purchases' page where you can update the status which will inform the buyer of changes to the transaction have been made.
